These delicious mashed potatoes are spicy, creamy and a great alternative to plain old mash. Try serving with spicy sausages and a cool, crisp salad.

2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 white onion, finely chopped
1 small green chilli, seeded and minced
3 tablespoons double cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
1 teaspoon lemon juice
salt and pepper, to taste

Cook the potatoes in a saucepan of boiling water for 20 minutes or until tender. Remove from the heat and drain.
Meanwhile in a frying pan over a medium heat, melt the butter and add the onion and chilli. Cook for 4 minutes until soft. Add to the potatoes then mash together with the cream, chives, lemon juice and seasoning. Serve hot.
