8 medium Bramley apples - peeled, cored and quartered
1 tablespoon caster sugar
juice of 1 lemon
1 pinch ground nutmeg
225g plain flour
85g rolled oats
100g soft brown sugar

Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
In a saucepan over a medium heat, combine the apples, caster sugar, lemon juice and nutmeg. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes until the apples begin to soften. Remove from the pan and spoon into a pie dish.
In a large bowl, rub the butter into the flour until fine breadcrumbs form then stir in the oats and brown sugar. Sprinkle the crumble over the apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until the crumble is golden brown and filling is piping hot. Remove from the oven and serve.
Halved ingredients. Used cinnamon as I had no nutmeg. Added a handful of frozen mixed berries. Used Stork baking block rather than butter as it's vegan.
Served with Oatley vegan custard.
