Preheat donut maker.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy and white. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla and syrup and spices
Weigh dry ingredients and mix together in a separate bowl, then fold into the butter mixture, alternating with dry ingredients and milk and oil until all incorporated.
Follow instructions for your donut maker to bake the donuts. Using a chopstick helps with handling the donuts.
You can coat these with icing, glaze, sugar-cinnamon mix, chocolate, sprinkles, etc. I make a glaze from the juice of melted frozen strawberries and sugar (that have been left until their juices come out) mixed with icing sugar. I warm the mixture and dip the donuts.
