This is my recipe for homemade custard. It is low fat as it uses skimmed milk, and it is a doddle to make in just 5 or 6 minutes and turns out perfect every time. Even great to make ahead, then chill in the fridge and warm up in the microwave... absolutely yummy!
To alter the consistency, or depending on how runny you like your custard, just add more milk whilst heating at the end. Stores brilliantly in the fridge, and then it can just be heated in the microwave, using a little extra milk to thin it slightly. It never fails, always turns out completely yummy.
Lovely custard I only added 25gms of sugar and it was perfect and used semi skimmed milk . - 30 Aug 2015
I made this for two so I halved the quantities, still found it to be far too sweet. Will try again with a lot less sugar. Thanks for sharing. X - 28 Jul 2015
