Bacon and cheese stuffed bread rolls

    1 hour

I've made rolls these since I was little and fill them either with bacon, sausage and cheese or with cheese and garlic butter. They don't last more than a day in our family and everyone is always coming back for more every time. Great for a picnic or a party.

    1. Fry your your bacon until it's half cooked so it's still supple. Cut the cheese into chunks.
    2. Divide the dough into pieces of equal size and make a dip in each piece.
    3. Wrap the cheese, chorizo and pepperoni in bacon to make tight little packets. Or generously cover the chunks of cheese with garlic butter.
    4. Place the bacon packet in the dip of a piece of dough and seal it up, rounding it up so it looks like a normal bread roll. Or place the cheese and garlic butter filling inside and proceed the same way.
    5. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    6. Oil the tray and place the rolls on the tray. Lightly brush the rolls with oil or milk and bake until brown and hollow-sounding when tapped, about 30 to 40 minutes.
    7. Leave to cool for 5 to 10 minutes, then enjoy.
