About this recipe: You want chocolate? You want it now? Wait just 5 minutes and your cravings will be satisfied. Double the recipe for a mug full but half a mug will be sufficient as the cake is quite rich.

Serves: 1 

  • 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated or caster sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons milk (whole is best)
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Prep:3min  ›  Cook:2min  ›  Ready in:5min 

  1. Put all the ingredients into a microwavable safe mug (that's big enough to hold at least 250ml, otherwise the mixture might overflow).
  2. Thoroughly stir the mix until it's glossy and smooth.
  3. Put in the microwave for about 1 minute or until the mix has risen with a nice top - keep checking though as all microwaves are different.
  4. Let the cake cool, find a spoon and enjoy!
