Brown Rice Milk

    I have recently started showing the signs of rheumatoid arthritis and arthritis and am going to try the gluten free, dairy free, caffeine free, alcohol free diet !! Luckily I love veges and tasty food so keep an eye out for how I get on and the recipes I find throughout the internet to make my diet just as interesting and fun as before !!

    • .75 cup brown rice
    • 7.5 cups of water, divided
    • .5 tsp pure vanilla extract


    1. In a saucepan, bring rice and 3 cups of water to a boil.
    2. Reduce to a simmer, and cook for 45 minutes, adding water if the pan dries out.
    3. When rice is soft, remove from heat and add 4 1/2 more cups of water and the vanilla.
    4. Stir, then let sit for an additional 45 minutes.
    5. Transfer soaking rice to a blender or food processor to mix for 3-4 minutes.
    6. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheese cloth into a mason jar or pitcher, and enjoy for 4-5 days.
