About this recipe: If your dog is sensitive to gluten then here is a great recipe for apple and carrot gluten free treats. On average we feed about 1 or 2 of these, broken into small pieces, to our large dog per day.

Makes: 20 gluten free apple treats for dogs

  • 2 apples - peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 1 carrot, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 350g potato flour
  • water, as needed

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:40min

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
  2. Combine the apple and carrot in the food processor and blend until smooth.
  3. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Add a splash of water if needed to help bind the mixture into a firm dough, if the mixture is a little too wet then add a little more potato flour. Flour a flat work surface and roll the dough out to a 1cm thickness then cut into biscuits using a biscuit cutter. Arrange on the prepared baking tray.
  4. Bake in the pre heated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before giving to your doggy friend.
