Easiest one-bowl banana and chocolate chip loaf cake

    Forget messing about with multiple bowls and more washing up later. This banana loaf cake is studded with chocolate chips and takes literally 10 minutes to prepare before going in the oven. You'll bake this often once you see how easy it is!

    Makes: 1 banana chocolate chip cake

    • 325g self raising flour
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 100g soft brown sugar
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 175g chocolate chips
    • 3 tablespoons melted butter
    • 80ml milk
    • 1 egg
    • 280g mashed banana

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 900g loaf tin.
    2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, both sugars, salt and chocolate chips. Stir well, then make a well in the centre and add the remaining ingredients. Stir till just combined; do not overmix. Tip into the prepared loaf tin.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven until a skewer inserted into the centre of the loaf comes out clean, 60 to 70 minutes.
