    About this recipe: Horseradish gives a boost of flavour to an otherwise traditional smoked mackerel pate. Enjoy with peppery watercress and toast.

    Serves: 6 

    • 225g (8 oz) smoked mackerel fillets, flaked
    • 175g (6 oz) cream cheese
    • 50g (2 oz) creme fraiche
    • 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish, or to taste
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
    • salt and pepper to taste

    1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Chill for about 1 hour and serve with crackers or warm toast.
