Creamy whisky steak sauce

    This creamy steak sauce is fast, easy and pairs beautifully with many steaks such as rump, fillet and sirloin. Make this sauce while cooking the steak and use the juices to maximise the flavours.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
    • 3 tablespoons whisky
    • 3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
    • 120ml beef stock
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • 4 tablespoons single cream

    Method

    1. In the same pan that you cooked the steaks, warm the oil over a high heat then add the rosemary and whisky and simmer, stirring constantly. Add the ketchup, stock and seasoning and simmer gently for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Just prior to serving, add the cream and stir well until heated through. Serve immediately over your favourite steak.
