    About this recipe: Super-fast delicious snack that's easy to do and not too messy. Great to make with the kids as a weekend project.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 175g self-raising flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 80g butter
    • 200g mature Cheddar cheese, grated

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Lightly grease a baking tray.
    2. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl, then add in the salt, butter and cheese. Mix by hand until it all binds together, then roll it out on a lightly floured surface using a rolling pin. (Add a few drops of cold water if necessary to bind the dough together.)
    3. Cut into finger sized pieces about 2cm thick and arrange on the prepared baking tray leaving plenty of space between.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes on the centre oven shelf until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving.

    Was surprised it was easier to mix by hand than expected, lovely texture, perhaps needs more cheese or several types?!? Does have me thinking about using this recipe as a base to my homemade no cook cheesecake. Options!!! - 09 Jun 2016
