Combine all of the ingredients, except the jam, in a saucepan over a medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Lower the heat and simmer very gently for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender. Spoon into warmed serving bowls and serve with a dollop of jam.
