Chocolate crunchies with fruit and flavoured cream

    Little chocolate baskets filled with your personal choice of fruits and cream. So easy to make, takes little time and looks fantastic.

    Serves: 8 

    • 175g golden syrup
    • 175g butter
    • 175g chocolate, broken into pieces
    • 150g cornflakes
    • fruit of your choice (see tip)
    • 600ml double or whipping cream
    • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
    • 2 tablespoons of chosen liqueur (see tip)

    1. Melt the syrup, butter and chocolate in a double boiler. Add cornflakes and mix well until evenly coated.
    2. Press this mixture into lightly greased ramekin dishes and hollow up the sides to make 12 little cases and leave to cool and set.
    3. When set turn out dishes and fill each case with fruit of your choice.
    4. Whip up cream with sugar and your chosen liqueur (see footnote below for some tasty ideas of liqueur mixtures).


    Calvados flavoured cream with apple slices ( leaving the red and green skins on). Kirsch flavoured cream with fresh cherries. Flamboise flavoured cream with fresh raspberries and a little grated chocolate. Kirsch-flavoured cream with fresh pineapple.
