About this recipe: Wonderfully cheap filling comfort food. Serve with bread, French stick or rolls for a complete meal.

Serves: 4 

  • 2kg (4 lb) potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 450g (1 lb) onions, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tin corned beef, chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste

  1. Place the potato and onion in a saucepan and pour in just enough water to half cover. Bring to a boil over a high heat and cook for 20 to 20 minutes until tender. Drain and return to the saucepan.
  2. Pour in the Worcestershire sauce and stir until you have a lumpy mixture. Over a medium heat, add the corned beef, and salt and pepper and stir until hot through. Spoon into warmed bowls and serve.

To cook in the pressure cooker

Place the potato and onion in the pressure cook and cook for 10 minutes until tender, drain, then add the remaining ingredients and place over a medium heat to warm through. Serve hot.
