Cheesy garlic pull apart baguette

About this recipe: Cheesy garlic pull apart bread is made by using ingredients like cheese, garlic, herb and butter. It is really amazing, delicious appetiser rich in flavours, which you can’t stop eating! This is an under 30 minutes snack. It is great treat not only for kids but also for everyone, across all ages. And I really recommend using mozzarella cheese for this, you want it to stretch and pull when you tear the pieces off. I kept the flavours quite simple, going for a garlic bread with cheese, but you can go really wild with the flavours for this! Ranch dressing, kick of chilli, other herbs – the possibilities are endless!

Serves: 6

  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • chopped fresh parsley, to taste
  • chopped fresh basil, to taste
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 French baguette
  • 55g grated mozzarella cheese

  2. Combine the butter, black pepper, chopped parsley, basil and minced garlic in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Cut bread loaf on a diagonal into slices 2.5cm to 3.5cm (1 to 1 1/2 in) thick using a bread knife for the perfect cut, be careful do not slice all the way through.
  4. Use your fingers to pry open each slice and apply or spread the prepared butter mixture and a sprinkling of cheese into each. Wrap the loaf in a sheet of aluminium foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes before opening the foil and allowing the crust to crisp up and go golden brown for a further 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve on a serving plate.
