Slow cooker mulled wine

    Simply place all the ingredients in a slow cooker to warm through, then turn the heat to the lowest setting and serve as you need to. This way it stays warm for hours!

    Serves: 12 

    • 500ml boiling water
    • 2 (750ml) bottles red wine
    • 250ml brandy
    • 150g caster sugar
    • 1 small lemon, washed and sliced
    • 6 whole cloves
    • 2 cinnamon sticks
    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

    1. Place all the ingredients into a slow cooker, stir to dissolve the sugar. Cook on high for 1 hour, then turn down to Low; ladle into cups as required.


    You can strain out all the bits but I like to leave them in and let the flavours deepen throughout the evening.
