Super easy turkey gravy

    30 min

This gravy is ideal to make after you have roasted your turkey as its depth of flavour comes from the rich turkey drippings left in the roasting pan.

    4 people made this

    Serves: 6

    • 30g plain flour, or more if needed
    • 60ml turkey drippings
    • 470ml water
    • 2 chicken stock cubes

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min

    1. In a frying pan over a medium heat, whisk the flour with turkey drippings until smooth, then reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently, until dark brown, about 10 minutes. Stir in the water and stock cubes, and simmer until the cubes have dissolved and the gravy is thickened and smooth, about 10 minutes.

I was skeptical of this recipe, but had only a small amount of drippings, so in desperation gave it a try. To my delighted surprise it turned out great. Not bland as I had feared. I like salty gravy, but this was a little too salty, possibly due to the seasonings on my turkey. Will start with one bouillon cube next time and add the second if needed.  -  13 Oct 2010  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

I have made this twice now, once for Thanksgiving and once for Christmas. It turned out perfect on Thanksgiving, but a little runny on Christmas. I think it was my fault though because I was too busy multitasking. The flavor is extremely rich and amazing.  -  23 Jan 2011  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
