Easy houmous

    Simple to make houmous with only a few ingredients! Serve with some crisps, vegetables sticks or pitta bread.

    Serves: 10 

    • 2 tins chickpeas
    • 150 to 225ml chickpea liquid from tins
    • 150ml extra virgin olive oil
    • 3 cloves garlic
    • juice of 2 lemons
    • 5 teaspoons tahini
    • 2 tablespoons hot paprika
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • pinch of sugar (optional for added sweetness)

    1. Add all of the ingredients to a food processor and blend until desired consistency...simple as that!


    I like my houmous garlicy and lemony, if you want to reduce either of these ingredients you will get a more evenly flavoured houmous. This can also be made with peanut butter (in place of the tahini). It's best to add your liquid as you blend, so you can achieve the consistency you want.
