    About this recipe: Chilli flakes add a surprisingly spicy twist to this rich fig topping for cheese. It's easy to double or treble the quantities if you would like to make it for a party or Christmas gifts.

    Serves: 6 

    • 200g dried figs, sliced
    • 235ml red wine
    • 50g sugar
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes, or to taste
    • 1 pinch salt

    1. Heat figs, red wine, sugar, honey, chilli flakes and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until wine is reduced and thickened, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
