you could add about 85 to 100g of a different fruit such as raisins. I like to add strawberries or cherries but if your going to add a moist fruit like that first I suggest you mix a teaspoon of flour with the fruit first to help prevent it from sinking. You could add a teaspoon of mixed spice to make it taste a little Christmasy or 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla or 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. You know it's really up to you what you do with it because there really is just so many ways to change this recipe
Had some apples so browsed what to make - came across this recipe and it's FAB - moist tasty cake!! I did add baking powder as flour here in France can be a bit hit n miss however this came out lovely! Very sweet so could possibly reduce sugar but I loved it just as it was!! - 03 Jul 2017
