About this recipe:This recipe was one I developed when on a gluten free diet. Not an identical replacement for the commercial versions - but good enough, if you can't get a gluten free version or want to try making your own. Quantities are not really critical - hence the 'mug' measure used - see what you prefer and what size mug this should be in your own opinion!

Method Prep:15min › Cook:15min › Ready in:30min
Combine the cornflour and tablespoon of water and mix well until dissolved. Set aside so that it is ready to thicken the sauce.
Place all remaining ingredients in a saucepan, mix well and bring to the boil for a few seconds before reducing heat and simmering for 5 minutes.
Remove pan from heat. When it has cooled enough add cornflour and water mixture slowly, stirring all the time. Return to a low heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens. Bottle and use as a replacement for commercial brown sauce.
