Haggis pie

    A cottage pie made with haggis and baked beans. I use half a haggis remaining from the previous day's meal of haggis, tatties and neeps, for two.

    Serves: 2 

    • 1/2 a haggis (about 400g)
    • 1 (400g) tin baked beans
    • 150 to 200g leftover mashed neeps
    • 150 to 200g leftover mashed tatties

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. In a bowl, combine the haggis and beans and mix well. Transfer to a baking dish. Spoon the leftover mashed neeps and tatties on top and fluff it up with a fork so that it browns with crispy peaks on top.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until bubbling, hot through and browned on top. Remove from the oven and serve.


    Haggis alone can be rich, but this pie is very tasty!
