About this recipe: My absolute favourite as a kid. I remember sneaking around trying to get more out of the tin without getting caught!

Serves: 6 

  • 110g (4 oz) plain chocolate
  • 110g (4 oz) butter
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 2 tablespoons cream or evaporated milk
  • 110g (4 oz) crushed digestive biscuits
  • 60g (2 oz) raisins
  • 60g (2 oz) halves glace cherries
  • 60g (2 oz) roughly chopped almonds

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:2min  ›  Extra time:2hr chilling  ›  Ready in:2hr17min 

  1. Place the chocolate, butter, golden syrup, cream/evaporated milk into a microwaveable bowl and microwave until melted, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix together well. Empty into a appropriately sized dish and put it in the fridge to set, about 1 to 2 hours.
