About this recipe: I created this recipe so follow it exactly to get the best soup ever. My friends love it. It is important to use the Marigold® Swiss vegetable bouillon for this recipe.

Serves: 10 

  • 3/4 bag red lentils
  • 4 large carrots
  • 3 dessertspoons Marigold® Swiss vegetable bouillon

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:6hr  ›  Ready in:6hr10min 

  1. Put the lentils into a slow cooker.
  2. Peel the carrots and blitz in a mini chopper/food processor and add to the lentils.
  3. Fill the slow cooker with water and cook on high for approx 6 hours until the lentils are very mushy.
  4. Transfer to a large pot and make as thick or thin as you want by adding more water now add the Swiss vegetable bullion and simmer for a further hour. Fantastic cheap and simple you can also freeze if it lasts long enough.


Marigold Swiss® vegetable bouillon is available in a tub from all supermarkets.
