About this recipe: A fun breakfast idea for Easter! Hard boiled eggs are jazzed up into a hatching chick and proud dad.


Serves: 1 

  • 1 piece carrot
  • 1 piece red pepper
  • 2 hard boiled eggs
  • 4 black peppercorns

  1. Cut out two pieces of carrot in the shape of beaks. Cut out a piece of red pepper in the shape of a rooster's comb.
  2. Cut a slice off the bottom of one of the hard boiled eggs so it can sit upright. Make the rooster by pushing in two peppercorns for the eyes, the red pepper comb and one of the carrot beaks.
  3. Carefully slice through the white of the other hard boiled egg in a zig-zag pattern to look like a cracked egg shell.
  4. Carefully remove the small half of the egg white and make the yolk into a chick with peppercorn eyes and carrot beak. Replace the top half like a hat.
