This is a really quick and simple meal for two people, with very few ingredients. We've had it regularly in our house for years, and we haven't got tired of it yet! Our favourite is smoked mackerel with peppercorns, but you can use any of the flavours, or just plain smoked mackerel, if you prefer.
You can season the finished dish if you like, but I find it doesn't need it. This dish is very simple, but very satisfying.
