Spinach smoothie

    This green juice is packed with nutrients. The ginger, lime and lemon add flavour. Apples add sweetness. Surprisingly delicious! Adjust the amount of water to the consistency you like.

    Serves: 3 

    • 1 large cucumber, chopped
    • 2 apples, cored and chopped
    • 3 celery sticks, chopped
    • 120ml cold water, or more as needed
    • 60g fresh spinach leaves
    • 1 bunch fresh parsley
    • 1 (2.5cm) piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
    • 1 lime, juiced
    • 1/2 lemon, juiced

    1. Place cucumber, apples, celery, water, spinach, parsley, ginger, lime juice and lemon juice in a blender; blend until smooth.

    The veggies have the predominant flavor in this smoothie, particularly the cucumber. However, the fruits "brighten" up the flavor, giving it a fresher quality. I needed to add some stevia to truly enjoy it for my breakfast.  -  21 Mar 2016  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
