Cucumber, chia seed and ginger smoothie

    No dairy required to make this refreshing green smoothie! It has a serving of chia seeds added which have plenty of protein to keep you full.

    Serves: 1 

    • 1/4 cucumber, roughly chopped
    • 1 frozen banana, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
    • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
    • 120ml fresh orange juice
    • water as needed

    1. Layer cucumber, banana, fresh ginger and chia seeds in a blender; add orange juice. Blend mixture until smooth, adding water for a thinner smoothie.

    I really liked it. I gave some to my younger brothers, though they didn't like it. But my mom really enjoyed it. I estimated on a lot of the measurements, but it came out fine. I don't think age really mattersI am I never actually thought of adding ginger to smoothies. But it really enhanced the flavor. I didn't have any orange juice so I put a few teaspoons of lemon juice instead. Than more water. I thought it looked a bit watery so I looked for ice in the freezer.
