Orange and chia seed smoothie

    Oranges, mangoes and chia seeds are blended with cashew butter, coconut flakes and flaxseeds to make this refreshing, nutritious bright orange breakfast smoothie.

    • 1 small orange, peeled
    • 80g frozen mango
    • 1 tablespoon cashew butter
    • 1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes
    • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
    • 1 teaspoon ground flaxseeds
    • 120ml fresh orange juice
    • water as needed (optional)

    1. Layer orange, mango, cashew butter, coconut, chia seeds and flaxseeds into a blender; add orange juice. Cover and blend mixture until smooth, adding water for a thinner smoothie.

    I really don't understand what I could have done to mess this up. My husband and I made this this morning and it ruined my day..okay a little dramatic but it was no good. We used peanut butter instead of cashew butter and also used less than the recipe called for. I was driving to work and took a sip and it was terrible so I thought maybe because I brushed my teeth pretty recently that the orange juice was tasting funky. I got to work an hour later, took a huge gulp, and couldn't even swallow it.
