About this recipe: These are good made with ground walnuts, but you could use ground almonds or ground mixed nuts. Try them with whatever nuts you have in the cupboard.

Makes: 9 to 12 rolls

  • 75g self-raising flour
  • 75g wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 100g ground walnuts
  • 1 egg
  • 100g soft light brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 150ml plain yought

  1. Heat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease and line a baking tray.
  2. Mix self-raising flour, wholemeal flour, cinnamon and bicarbonate of soda. Stir in ground walnuts.
  3. Beat the egg, brown sugar and oil in a bowl; stir in yogurt. Pour this wet mixture into the dry flour mixture; mix to form a soft dough. Place spoonfuls of the dough on the prepared baking tray.
  4. Bake in oven for 45 minutes until risen and golden brown.
  5. Transfer to a wire rack to cool, then pull apart to serve.
