    About this recipe: This is a side dish for curries. This idea is that the coolness of the yoghurt and the cucumber will counteract the hotness of the curry and so it does - much more effectively than cold drinks.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 200g natural yoghurt
    • 3 tablespoons Patak's Garlic Pickle
    • 1/2 cucumber, about 125g, diced in small cubes
    • 1 medium onion, thinly chopped
    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh mint
    • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
    • 1 pinch garam masala

    Method

    1. In a bowl, mix the yoghurt and garlic pickle together until well combined.
    2. Add the cucumber, onion, mint and chilli and again mix well; season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
    3. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle a pinch of garam masala over the raita.
