About this recipe: Cucumber and basil add a refreshing twist to traditional homemade lemonade. Great for summer picnics!


Makes: 2 litres

  • 2L cold water, divided
  • 200g sugar
  • 335ml fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 10 fresh basil leaves, torn

  1. Combine 250ml cold water and sugar together in a small saucepan; bring to the boil. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and cool syrup to room temperature.
  2. Stir syrup, remaining water, lemon juice, cucumber and basil together in a jug; chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
