About this recipe: A perfect recipe for those not too concerned about exact measurements! Tastes far better than anything you can buy in the shops!

Makes: 1 malt loaf

  • 1 large mug of soft brown sugar
  • 1 large mug of All Bran®
  • 1 large mug of sultanas
  • 1 large mug of cold black tea
  • 1 large mug of self-raising flour

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:1hr15min  ›  Extra time:2hr soaking  ›  Ready in:3hr30min 

  1. Mix brown sugar, All Bran®, sultanas and cold tea together in a large bowl. Let stand for 2 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  3. Stir in self-raising flour and mix to combine. Pour into a 1lb loaf tin and bake in preheated oven, on the middle shelf, for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool before slicing and serving with butter for spreading!
