Makes: 4 to 6 portions
2 to 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 apple - peeled, cored and diced
20ml breast milk or formula

Place carrots in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Add apple, then simmer for a further 5 minutes, or till soft. Drain.
Transfer carrot and apple to a blender or food processor. Add milk or formula and puree till smooth. Serve once cooled. To freeze for later: fill an ice cube tray with the puree. Freeze for at least 2 hours, till solid. Remove cubes from tray and place in a freezer bag. To defrost, place in microwave for 30 seconds, or as needed.
You can use water instead of milk or formula to thin the puree.
