Quick and easy chocolate brownies

    This recipe is good to follow and your brownies will be ready under 1 hour if you follow this recipe. All the ingredients are easy to get at your local shop.

    Serves: 12 

    • 350g caster sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 175g margarine, melted
    • 3 eggs
    • 125g plain flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 50g cocoa powder
    • 75g walnuts, chopped (optional)

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:55min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 23x33cm (9x13) in baking tin.
    2. In a large bowl, place in the sugar and vanilla extract. Pour the melted margarine over the top.
    3. Beat the eggs and slowly add to the sugar mixture while beating well.
    4. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and mix well. Add walnuts if you want to and spoon into the prepared cake tin and level off.
    5. Bake for approximately 40 minutes. Leave to cool and slice into even slices. Enjoy.

    This was such a quick an easy recipe to follow. I swapped the walnuts for chocolate chips an they went down a treat with my girls  -  31 Oct 2016


    I left them in the oven for a very long time so the outsides were overdone but the inside was still the original mixture! I stuck to the recipe exactly, so I don't know what happened!  -  29 May 2017


    Quick and easy recipe yes. But the baking time in the I've stated 40 mins. Well mine burnt all the way through from 20mins. Tried recipe again with less heat and time. Looking perfect on the outside but hard as rocks on the inside. This recipe sadly wasn't for me.  -  14 Nov 2016
