About this recipe: My kids don't like a lot of meat, but they love sausages so I did this on Sunday, as I like a roast dinners with mash and Yorkshires, and this hit the spot. Minimum cooking and yummy for all and easy to adapt!

Makes: 4 to 5 portions

  • oil for frying
  • 8 Cumberland sausages
  • 1 tin baked beans
  • 1 sausage casserole powder mix
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 5 Yorkshire puddings
  • 1 tablespoons honey

  1. Brown off your sausage with some oil for a few minutes in a frying pan till brown on outside. Transfer sausages to the slow cooker.
  2. Add 1 tin of baked beans to the sausages in the slow cooker.
  3. Mix up the casserole powder mix to the instructions and add to the slow cooker.
  4. Cook sausage and bean mix in the slow cooker on LOW for 4 to 5 hours.
  5. Meanwhile, boil carrots and spuds in separate pans about 15 minutes before you're ready to eat. Drain well, then mash the potatoes.
  6. Put Yorkshire puddings in to cook.
  7. Drizzle carrots with honey just before serving. Serve sausage and bean casserole with the carrots, Yorkshire puddings and mash.


You can add what ever veg to this recipe and cook accordingly; this was just the way I did it for my family.
