    About this recipe: This is an excellent recipe for fudgy brownies with butter, sugar, dark chocolate and lots of walnuts.

    Serves: 9 

    • 60g plain flour
    • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 200g caster sugar
    • 120g butter, softened
    • 2 eggs
    • 60g dark chocolate, melted
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 120g coarsely chopped walnuts

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:55min 

    1. Preheat oven to 170 C / Gas 3. Grease a 20cm square baking tin.
    2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl.
    3. Beat sugar and butter together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs until smooth batter forms; beat in chocolate and vanilla extract. Stir flour mixture in just until incorporated; fold in walnuts. Spread brownie mixture into prepared baking tin.
    4. Bake in preheated oven until top is dry and edges have started to pull away from the sides of the pan, 40 to 45 minutes. Cool completely in tin, about 30 minutes; cut into 9 squares.

    These were really good. the recipe was easy to follow. The batter is very thick which lends to the dense fudgy goodness. They had a wonderful crust and soft fudgy center.     I've always loved brownies if they have nuts in them but the store bought ones never impressed me. I decided to give this recipe a try and I LOVE them. My mom usually doesn't like brownies but she couldn't resist these! The batter was just the right consistency and the brownies came out moist and scumpsious.
