About this recipe: This is a crumble topping recipe for one portion, which can be doubled, trebled, etc., to create a crumble topping for however many portions you need. It's great for when you have a little fruit that is overripe - just chuck the fruit into a ramekin, top with the crumble topping and bake!

Serves: 1 

  • Crumble topping for one
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons porridge oats
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown soft sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 15g butter

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Combine the oats, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Add the butter and rub together till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over your crumble filling (for one portion, a ramekin filled 3/4 full with fruit works well). Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 40 minutes, or till browned.

3 tablespoons oats
3 tablespoons plain flour
2 tablespoons dark brown soft sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
30g butter

Crumble topping for four...

60g porridge oats
50g plain flour
50g dark brown soft sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
60g butter
