    About this recipe: All you need is sliced bread, eggs, milk and a few spices to make the best French toast for a quick and easy breakfast. Serve with maple syrup and fresh fruit if you need to make it a bit more special!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 3 

    • 6 thick slices bread
    • 2 eggs
    • 160ml milk
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
    • salt to taste

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:20min 

    1. Beat together egg, milk, salt, desired spices and vanilla.
    2. Heat a lightly oiled flat griddle or pan over medium-high heat.
    3. Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides. Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden. Serve hot.
