Baked pork chops

    Pork chops are baked with a tangy sauce made of soy sauce, Worcestershire and ketchup. It only takes 15 minute to prep!

    Serves: 6 

    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons ketchup, or to taste
    • 6 pork chops, trimmed

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. In a small bowl, thoroughly blend soy sauce, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar and ketchup.
    3. Place pork chops in a baking dish and spread 1/2 the sauce over the top of the chops.
    4. Bake pork chops for 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Turn the chops over and spread the remaining sauce on top. Continue baking for another 30 minutes.

    I have to say that initially I was very leery in making this marinade...but I was desperate not to have plain 'ol pork chops last night. I was pleasantly surprised! I doubled the recipe and I'm glad I did because it was just enough (I'm a sauce lover). I adjusted the cooking time just a bit because I only had two pork chops and they were 1 1/2 inches thick and bone in. For the final stage of cooking, I poured on about 2 tbsp of marinade on top of each chop and put them under the broiler till the sauce caramelized. We ate the chops with mashed sweet potatoes.
