About this recipe: Berbere, an Ethiopian spice blend made with fenugreek, paprika, ginger, coriander and many more spices. It is used in a lot of savoury Ethiopian dishes.

  • 125g chilli powder
  • 55g paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground fenugreek
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon onion granules
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  1. Mix chilli powder, paprika, salt, fenugreek, ginger, onion granules, coriander, cardamom, garlic powder, cloves and cinnamon together in a bowl.

Cook's Notes:

This berbere spice mix can be kept in the fridge for about 3 months if kept in an airtight container.
