Lasagne flatbreads

    Try this easy hack on lasagne which involves spreading a cheese sauce on flatbreads and topping with a sausage pasta sauce and mozarella cheese.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 425g ricotta cheese
    • 225g grated mozzarella cheese, divided
    • 85g Parmesan cheese
    • 1 egg
    • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
    • 450g sausages, chopped
    • 350g pasta sauce
    • 6 flatbreads

    Method
    Prep:25min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:40min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg and Italian seasoning in a bowl.
    3. Cook sausage in a pan over medium heat until cooked through, 5 to 10 minutes; drain off any excess grease. Stir in pasta sauce.
    4. Spread 1/6 of the cheese mixture evenly on each flatbread; cover with sausage mixture. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
    5. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, 10 to 15 minutes.

    Notes:

    Cottage cheese can be substituted for the ricotta cheese if desired.

    I love this simple recipe! I used garlic naan instead of flatbread. Since I am vegetarian, I chopped up some thin "chicken" strips to replace the sausage on top and it was soo good!     I liked it, my family liked it. It wasn't quite at the loving it stage though. It could be the way i cooked it but it just didn't make it there yet, to me i felt that the ricotta cheese was too much snd to add less of that. I would consider making it again, it was enjoyable.
