    About this recipe: A classic pear and almond tart is reinvented as a dairy free and gluten free dessert sweetened with maple syrup in this super easy recipe.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 155g ground almonds
    • 25g gluten-free flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon gluten-free baking powder
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 60ml maple syrup
    • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
    • 680g pear halves, drained and patted dry

    Method

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease the bottom of a tart pan with a removable bottom and line with baking paper.
    2. Mix ground almonds, gluten-free flour and baking powder together in a bowl.
    3. Whisk egg, maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla extract, salt and almond extract together in another bowl. Fold in ground almond mixture to form a sticky dough.
    4. Press dough into the prepared tart pan. Arrange pear halves on top.
    5. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 22 to 25 minutes.
