Chocolate and hazelnut palmiers

    55 min

Frozen puff pastry, Nutella(R) and chopped hazelnuts are all you need to make these deliciously flaky chocolate palmiers!

    2 people made this

    Serves: 12

    • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
    • 250g chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella(R))
    • 40g finely chopped, roasted hazelnuts

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:30min  ›  Ready in:55min

    1. Lay puff pastry sheet out flat on a work surface. Spread chocolate-hazelnut spread over puff pastry and sprinkle with hazelnuts.
    2. Starting with a long edge of the pastry, roll pastry tightly around filling, stopping in the middle. Repeat with the opposite long edge, meeting the first roll. Refrigerate until chilled, about 30 minutes.
    3. Preheat oven to 230 C / Gas 8. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
    4. Slice pastry into 2cm slices. Arrange slices on prepared baking tray.
    5. Bake in preheated oven until golden, 6 to 7 minutes. Flip palmier pastries and continue baking until crisp, 4 to 5 minutes more.

These were good! The chocolate sort of leaked out a bit, but they were still tasty. Thanks for sharing.  -  05 Mar 2013  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
