Spicy avocado

    Sliced avocado is topped with lemon juice and hot sauce in this quick starter or snack that is also vegan and paleo-friendly. I have tried lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit and satsuma juice but I think lemon tastes the best.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 145g ripe avocado, halved and pitted
    • 1/2 lemon, juiced
    • 2 tablespoons hot sauce, or to taste
    • 2 pinches coarse sea salt

    Method

    1. Slice the flesh of each avocado half 3 or 4 times in one direction, turn avocado and slice 3 or 4 more slices perpendicular to the first slices creating 8 to 12 small cubes still attached to the peel.
    2. Drizzle lemon juice over each avocado and top with sea salt. Drizzle hot sauce over each. Eat with a fork or spoon.

    Can you really rate any recipe that boasts hot sauce and avocado? No. It's a perfect marriage. The recipe calls for one cup of avocado, you'll want one avocado, no need to measure it seeing that it will be cut and served inside the skin.  -  21 Nov 2016  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
