About this recipe: This is our family's recipe for fresh pear pie topped with a brown sugar crumble. Serve it cool or warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Using freshly-grated nutmeg will make a difference.

    Serves: 8

    • 6 large pears, peeled and sliced
    • 1 lemon, juiced
    • 135g caster sugar

    • 115g butter
    • 70g soft brown sugar
    • 125g plain flour
    • 1 (23cm) unbaked pastry case
