Honey barbecue marinade

    This marinade is perfect for using as a glaze for barbecued meat, or as a beef jerky base.

    Makes: 425 ml marinade, approximately

    • 250g natural honey
    • 135g tomato sauce or ketchup
    • 60g butter
    • 1 tablespoon vingear
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
    • 1 garlic clove, crushed

    1. Add all ingredients to a pan and heat until all the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.
    2. Leave to cool and use on a meat of your choice.


    If you like a bit of spice, add in chilli flakes or paprika to suit.
