About this recipe:I created this slow cooker chilli con carne recipe by combining a number of recipes I'd tried on this site and a recipe from Jamie Oliver. Serve with crusty bread or on a bed of rice.
500g beef mince
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
100g carrot, chopped
1 (400g) tin kidney beans, drained
1 (400g) tin beans in chilli sauce
1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
70g tomato puree
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons ground cumin ground cumin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
salt and pepper, to taste
soured cream, to serve
chopped spring onions, to serve
grated cheese,to serve

Fry the beef mince in a dry frying pan until browned.
Transfer into slow cooker; add chopped pepper, onion, carrot, beans, tomatoes, tomato puree and spices. Stir well.
Cook for 6 hours on High or 8 hours on Low.
Serve the chilli piled high in bowls, topped with a spoonful of soured cream, grated cheese and sliced spring onions.
