Versatile breakfast smoothie

    Enjoy this smoothie as it is or adjust as you wish. The porridge oats and banana are slow release carbs so will keep you satisfied for a good period of time.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 40g dry porridge oats
    • 1 medium sized banana, sliced
    • 200ml milk
    • 100ml natural yoghurt
    • 1 dessertspoon honey
    • ice cubes (optional)

    Method

    1. Add oats, sliced banana, milk, yoghurt and honey to a half-litre measuring jug.
    2. Immerse a hand (stick) blender and blitz for around 30 seconds or until the mix is smooth.
    3. Add ice cubes to two tall glasses, pour in smoothie mix and enjoy.

    Tip

    As with most smoothie recipes you can alter to taste as you wish. Add other fruits or berries.
